1st – Rob Martin – Managing Director of Care Services, Anchor
Rob Martin has been the Managing Director of Care Services and Executive Director for Anchor since 2020, overseeing 121 care homes. Under his leadership, Anchor has acquired ten homes and opened five, including one recognised as Luxury Care Home of the Year. Passionate about care, Rob has returned to his roots by undertaking care shifts to understand daily challenges better. He promoted the Apprenticeship Programme for entry-level roles and launched the Social Care Leaders Scheme to attract talented graduates. Additionally, Rob initiated the Veteran Friendly Framework accreditation for Anchor Homes and champions Equality and Diversity initiatives, leading to Gold status in the Inclusive Employers Standard.
2nd – Amrit Dhaliwal – Chief Executive Officer, Walfinch
Amrit Dhaliwal, a former care franchisee, exemplifies enthusiasm and commitment to person-centred care. As the author of The Home Care Revolution, he addresses industry challenges, donating proceeds to the Care Workers Charity. Under his leadership, Walfinch received 14 major award nominations in 2023, winning six, including the Great British Care Award. He hosts the “Walking with Walfinch” podcast, sharing insights from industry leaders. With ambitious plans for 150 branches and £130 million in revenue over five years, Amrit fosters a diverse, engaged team of 425 carers across 30 branches, inspiring exceptional care and a positive workplace culture.
3rd – Joe O’Connor – Chief Executive Officer, Four Seasons Health Care & Brighter Kind
In January 2024, Joe launched a new Vision and Values for the enhanced Four Seasons Health Care Group, embracing both the Four Seasons and brighter kind brands. His leadership facilitated the sale of 65 care homes, ensuring no closures and maintaining care for over 3,000 residents while retaining 4,000 team members. Joe has also driven positive outcomes in care quality and financial performance across the remaining 50 homes, achieving an 83% customer satisfaction index, over 91% occupancy, and an improved employee satisfaction index of 84%. His efforts have fostered a transparent culture centred on a common purpose, prioritising residents’ needs
